The virtual conference builds on the efforts from the first conference in 2021 and a subsequent webinar. The focus will be continuing to share, network, and discuss the various aspects of conducting community and citizen science research in the Arctic. This conference will be highly participatory and interactive. Organizers envision the conference to be a combination of short presentations, keynote speakers, and opportunities to discuss issues specific to the Arctic. The conference will be in English and utilize Zoom as the main platform for audio and visual. Organizers anticipate the conference starting in the mornings (Alaska Standard Time) and being about four to five hours in duration, each day. There will also be scheduled breaks each day. The agenda and presenters will be posted on the conference website in early April.
Before the conference, organizers encourage you to join the online community, Connect the Arctic, to exchange ideas, start discussions, and network with others interested the Arctic. Updates about the conference will also be shared in the community as well as with anyone that has registered for the conference.
General registration will open for all attendees on Monday, 12 February 2024, the same date as the abstract submission opens, and close on Friday, 12 April 2024. This online conference is free and there are no abstract or registration fees.
Registration deadline: 8 March 2024, 5:00 p.m. Alaska Standard Time
