As an outcome of the 6th World Reindeer Herders' Congress, the participating reindeer herders - representatives of their regions and peoples - have released the Jåhkåmåhkke Declaration. This document outlines the reindeer herding peoples' concerns and opinions on matters related to their lives and livelihoods.
The declaration covers the following topics:
- Education, indigenous languages, research and management
- Economic development, youth, food culture and crafts
- Biodiversity, protected areas and traditional indigenous knowledge
- Fragmentation of grazing lands
- Health and well-being
- Taiga reindeer herding
- International collaboration and information
